General information on our two-factor authentication
To protect your account even better, you can enable two-factor authentication (2FA).
When using 2FA you will be asked to enter a code in addition to your password, which you will receive on a separate device. In our webapp you can choose if you want to use this method every time you login or only if you login from an unknown device.
Activate two-factor authentication
Attention: To activate and use the authentication you need an Authenticator App of your choice (e.g. Google Authenticator)
Open your profile. The field at the bottom right shows you the possibility to activate the two-factor authentication. Click on "Enable Two-Factor Authentication". The following field opens:
Scan the QR Code with your Authenticator App, enter the displayed code and confirm. Now you can choose whether you want to use two-factor authentication each time you log in, regardless of the device, or whether you only want it to be used with unknown devices.
What do I do if the second device is lost or broken?
If, for some reason, you no longer have access to the device that outputs the code, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
